Saigon Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in the world but was designated as a botanical garden originally. When you enter the gates, you are surrounded by 260 species of matured plants as the pathways meander through gardens, and past ponds topped with lilies and lotuses. It is home to the Hung Kings Temple and Vietnam Museum of Natural history. Unfortunately, animal treatment is sub-standard.
