Fusion Suites Vung Tau

By: City Pass Guide

It's safe to say that 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone. With routines disrupted, travel restricted and finances strained, taking the time to relax, recharge and refresh your mind set is even more important than usual!

With this in mind I welcomed the opportunity to escape the city for a weekend, and took the chance to celebrate my daughter’s birthday with a family trip to Vung Tau. Within easy reach of Ho Chi Minh City but with enough things to do to keep the kids entertained, Vung Tau is a popular choice for a weekend break among Saigon’s expat and local community. Perhaps, not this weekend though, as a storm was forecast and as we arrived on the coast, Vung Tau bay was certainly looking a little less busy and a little more choppy than you would usually find.

Fusion Suites Vung Tau

Luckily, we had been invited to spend the weekend at Fusion Suites Vung Tau and as soon as we arrived I felt confident that even if the weather was not going to be friendly to us, we would still have a fantastic time.

Conveniently located 300 meters from the Back Beach, on Truong Cong Dinh Street, Fusion Suites is a modern resort designed with modern travellers and families in mind. It offers comfortable, stylish suites, studios and apartments to suit all your needs and we were treated to a very friendly welcome by the resort staff when we arrived to check in.

Our comfortable Double Room was perfect for a family of four and offered stunning views over the bay from the balcony. Located within a few kilometres of most of Vung Tau’s main tourist sights and attractions Fusion Suites is well located if you want to explore the city, however, with the clouds rolling in and the wind picking up, I was also happy to see a spacious lounge and wide screen tv, in case an afternoon exploring had to be replaced by an afternoon watching movies inside!

Of course, as a 5-star resort, Fusion Suites also has excellent facilities for you to enjoy if relaxation is the aim of your visit. With complimentary spa treatments available for guests, you know that your body and mind are well taken care of here. But I suspect for many people the highlight of a visit to Fusion Suites is the Infinity Sky Pool that not only offers spectacular views of the city, but would be a lovely place to enjoy and drink and something to eat after an afternoon exploring.

Although we were able to sample the delicious food and drinks on the rooftop later that day, we had to wait until the next morning when the storm had run its course to take full advantage of the pool. Watching the sun beginning to shine brightly over the hills and the bay of Vung Tau and taking in the stunning panoramic views of the city, I felt totally relaxed and re-energised. And as my daughter had thoroughly enjoyed a luxurious birthday treat, I felt that perhaps I had found the perfect weekend getaway for anyone who wants a break from Saigon!

IMPERIAL Vung Tau: A Private Beach Away from the City

By: Sivaraj Pragasm

Vung Tau is a favourite weekend or holiday destination for many of Saigon’s residents. Being the closest beach to the city, many locals, expats and tourists alike make it a point to visit Vung Tau for its attractions and its beautiful beach.

However, the beachfront area can get a little crowded. So whether you’re in Vung Tau for a weekend, or enjoying an extended vacation, one of the best choices for accommodation has to be IMPERIAL Hotel Vung Tau.

Vung Tau’s Premier 5-Star Hotel

Being one of the most luxurious hotels and residences in Vung Tau, IMPERIAL gives you services and amenities of the highest international standards, while ensuring you get a truly local experience.

IMPERIAL, the only 5-star hotel in the city that also provides guests with their own private beach at the IMPERIAL Beach Club, lets guests soak in the sun in total privacy. Here you can recline on the sand and sip on cocktails while watching the waves lap up the Bai Sau coastline with a breeze in your hair.

If you don’t feel like getting a dose of saltwater, you can also check out the swimming pool close to the beach. With relaxing music accompanying the beach’s sights and sounds, you can enjoy a relaxing and refreshing day out with your friends and loved ones at this beachfront paradise.

A Landmark

The hotel’s Victorian-era style and architecture is definitely one of the hotel’s defining characteristics. With exquisite sculptured walls and pillars, and a spacious layout with tiled flooring, walking through the lobby is like visiting an 18th-century British estate.

For example, take a look at the Royal Garden. The beautifully landscaped space delightfully harmonises blues and greens. With the soothing greenery of the carefully and well-manicured plants placed alongside the dazzling swimming pools and jacuzzis, the Royal Garden is the perfect setting for some peace and quiet.

A Culinary Spectacle

Your hunger will always be satiated at IMPERIAL Vung Tau’s four flagship restaurant outlets.

La Sirena Seafood Bar and Grill offers some of the best seafood you will find in the city; Shi Fu Chinese Bistro provides authentic Chinese cuisine from the Guangdong region. Besides typical Cantonese fare like dim sum, you can also find homemade Peking duck and Sichuan-style stir-fried tofu.

You can also enjoy more Asian cuisine at Asia Selection, located just off the lobby of the King’s Tower. Offering a tasty selection of Thai, Japanese and Indian cuisines, guests can dine in a spacious setting with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Royal Garden. The restaurant also hosts a breakfast buffet. Lunch and dinner are served à la carte.

The IMPERIAL Dining Room, the prime fine-dining option in Vung Tau, radiates elegance and class.

Specialising in local fine-dining fare, the Dining Room serves traditional dishes from the various regions of Vietnam, including local favourites like chả cá, Hanoi’s famous grilled fish, bún bò Huế, the popular beef noodle soup from Hue and grilled rice cakes straight from the beaches of Vung Tau.

A Western menu is also available, featuring classic international favourites such as pasta, salads, sandwiches, grilled beef, lamb, Norwegian salmon and many others.

Serving a breakfast buffet and à la carte lunches and dinners, rich jewel tones of maroon and gold highlight the restaurant’s premium setting. Featuring both an indoor and alfresco dining area, the restaurant can seat 250 to 300 guests.

Whether you’re visiting Vung Tau for work, or need a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of Saigon, IMPERIAL Vung Tau has it all.
