EPIZODE³ Festival: The Most Spectacular Yet

The sensational Epizode³ festival in Vietnam - one of the most thrilling underground electronic music and art events in the world, has just completed its biggest and most successful edition to date. The festival amazingly doubled last year’s attendance, with more than 10,000 people from 79 countries dancing on the idyllic Long Beach of Vietnam’s Phu Quoc island, from 28th December 2018 to 8th January 2019.
The Best International and Regional DJs at Epizode Festival, Vietnam
The groundbreaking Epizode festival’s huge lineup of quality included 140 international DJ stars such as [a:rpia:r], Apollonia, Craig Richards, Dubfire, Ferry Corsten, Goldie, Nina Kraviz, Nick Warren, Peggy Gou, Ricardo Villalobos, Seth Troxler, Sonja Moonear, Zip, and Tini. Playing alongside them were some of the best regional and local talents, including Alam, Diskonnected, Gabri-l, Hibiya Line, Jonathan Kusuma, Kerry Wallace, Marcus L, Ouissam, Sequ3l, Sunju Hargun, and Zig Zach, to name a few. They all threw together rolling beats across four artistically designed stages for 11 days and nights, 24 hours a day. The crowds soaked up the festival’s unique, captivating vibe in a hypnotizing environment, with iconic art installations and sculptures dotted along the paradise tropical beach, among the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets each day and night. Apart from the non stop partying, daytime activities included yoga classes, Holi day, and mesmerizing, chilled sunset DJ sets.
Epizode³ in Phu Quoc brought many memorable moments to its party-goers, such as the surprise sets of Raresh b2b Rhadoo and Raresh b2b Sonja Moonear on New Year’s Day, Seth Troxler b2b Craig Richards on 7th January, as well as Zip’s and Rhadoo’s 5-hour sets at the festival’s after party. Epic moments happened on the Main stage too, when Red Axes came back in the morning to play one more time, and one of the most viral moments – Ricardo Villalobos’ 9-hour set on the Frisbee stage during heavy tropical rain. Epizode³ welcomed some of the best global party brands and labels’ showcases, such as Arma, Mdrnty, Yoyaky, Half Baked, Sci+Tec, The Volks, System 108, Equation, Sash & The Breakfast Club, to name a few, as well as Boiler Room Vietnam edition with James McHale, Alci and Dana Ruh on the decks.
Epizode Festival Produces Amazing Vibes in Phu Quoc
“We are very grateful to all partygoers, artists and partners who danced with us all the way at the Epizode³ festival in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. We doubled the attendance compared to the previous edition and we welcomed some of the greatest international and regional DJs, many of whom came back to play additional sets. The festival launched on December 28th with Epizode³ general producer Tyoma on the decks at sunset at the Frisbee area. The next day, Oliver Huntemann and Bloody Mary played on the same stage, followed by The Prodigy’s Leeroy Thornhill on the Main stage on December 30th, as well as Asia’s Alam and Dott at the intimate Eggs location.
Epizode Welcomes 2019 in Style on Phu Quoc’s Long Beach
NYE was a true spectacle with Tyoma, Berlin’s finest Dana Ruh, and YOUANDME on Main stage, while Romanian super trio [a:rpi:ar] and Swiss queen Sonja Moonear set the Frisbee stage on fire until the early morning, before the crowd moved to the Shell stage for an afterparty with surprise sets by Rhadoo b2b Raresh and Raresh b2b Sonja Moonear.
On New Year’s Day, the iconic Goldie, Black Sun Empire, Hong Kong’s Ocean Lam and Beijing’s Weng Weng smashed the venue with incredible sets, followed by Petre Inspirescu at sunrise on Shell stage the following day. Yet another epic moment happened on 3rd January, when Ricardo Villalobos played for more than 9 hours at Frisbee during massive rainfall, while Australia’s finest, Kerry Wallace and Gabri-L, played their Sash & The Breakfast Club showcase at Shell.
There was an amazing night on 4th January with Dana Ruh and Appolonia at the Mdrnty showcase on Frisbee stage, and Guti, Peggy Gou and Pan-Pot playing the Main Stage, followed by Red Axes who came back to play an additional sunrise set. That night also featured Vietnam’s Ouissam and Hibiya Line at the Equation showcase at Eggs and Sammy Dee on Shell Stage for the Arma Afterparty. On 5th January, Lamache and Maayan Nidam produced some magic at the Yoyaky day on Shell stage, while later that night, Craig Richards and DJ Masda did their thing on Frisbee, alongside Nick Warren on Main and Sunju Hargun and Jonathan Kusuma at Eggs.
Wrapping Up Another Epic Epizode and Planning For 2019/20
The day of 6th January, the Volks day presented Perlon label’s Zip and Fumiya Tanaka at Shell, followed by the Ants showcase on Main with Richy Ahmed and Davide Squillace, as well as Seth Troxler and Bill Patrick on Frisbee and Seoul’s Marcus L and Smoke Machine resident Diskonnected at Eggs. The morning of the 7th brought a surprise Seth Troxler b2b Craig Richards set at Shell, followed by tINI and Thomas Melchior at the Half Baked showcase. That night, Dubfire and David Gtronic played at Main Stage’s Sci+Tec showcase, while Nina Kraviz and DJ Stingray span at Frisbee. The last parties saw Binh, Matias Aguayo and more close out the festival during the day followed by an afterparty where Zip and Rhadoo played for many hours to end an unbelievable third episode of Epizode.

The Epizode festival is organised by Sagrado Corp – a Moscow-based company who are very active in Russia. Sagrado co-organise the cultural program for the international Expo in Astana, and arrange the tours of many DJs and musicians to Moscow, such as Solomun, Wu Tang Clan, Carl Cox, Tiesto, Sven Vath, Luciano, W&W, and more.
