Bus from Da Nang
Traveling in Vietnam by bus is one of the cheapest ways to go around. It is also great for meeting new people and to see some beautiful landscapes. There are several options to travel by car or bus from Da Nang. You can go to any major cities in Vietnam and also to My Son.
The current buses available departing from Danang and their schedules are the following:
From Danang to Hoi An: There is a public yellow bus that runs every 30 minutes from the Danang central bus station to Hoi An’s main bus station (15,000 VND one way). Although it’s more convenient to hire a private car or taxi (negotiate a price of no more than 200,000 VND one way).
To My Son: The most common form of travel to the ancient ruins of My Son is by bus tour. You can arrange these from Danang, Hoi An or Hue. Usually buses leave at 6:00 am and arrive at the site around 9:00 am. They include ticket prices, lunch and a boat trip. Alternatively, hire a motorbike or go by motorbike tour. This way you’ll experience more of the countryside. It’s not always about the destination, but the journey!
Tour Buses: The most reputable bus tour companies are Hanh Cafe, Sinh Cafe, TM Brother and Camel Travel. Buses run twice daily between Hoi An and Hue (cost 50,000 VND one way) and daily to Hanoi or Saigon (200,000 VND one).
If you have a travel budget a bit higher, you can also check if there is a train going to your destination (Trains to/from Danang).
