German International School (IGS-Deutsche Schule)
On the 19th September 2012, former Federal Minister of Economy Philipp Rösler officially opened the youngest German school abroad. In July 2012 the doors opened for the first time for 31 children in kindergarten, primary and secondary school. The basis for IGS as a school of cultural exchange for Vietnamese and German students is from the "Hanoi declaration" between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng.
As a school under development, together we have the opportunity to break new grounds and cultivate traditions. In even smaller study groups, individual support can be better offered in a bilingual (German, English) oriented curriculum, which is based on lesson plans and curriculums from Germany.
With this concept, IGS offers all German speaking people in HCMC or those families interested in German education the opportunity for a skill-based education. With this type of education, students can return or transit into the German-speaking school system or to institutions of higher learning.
