Clever Learn (Ama)

AMA has its origin from AITMA (American Information Technology & Management Association dating back to the 1960s in the USA).

As a long-standing educational non-profit organization specialized in providing Business Management training for international enterprises, AITMA has cooperated with Cambridge Academy to conduct a variety of researches and experiments on English training to international students in different cities such as Cambridge, London, Manchester, New York, and Las Vegas with the synergy between AITMA’s information technology and Cambridge Academy’s English teaching experience and skills since 1996.

In 2009, the Smart Methodology of English teaching was experimented successfully and estimated to shorten up to 20% of foreign learners’ English learning time.

In February 2010, AMA came into existence with the mission to develop the world-wide English training system. Vietnam is one of its first destinations with the foundation of American Academy Viet Nam (www.ama.edu.vn )

In July 2010, AMA sign a contract to the value of USD 3 million with Cleverlearn HCM, a leading English training entity in Vietnam, to provide training materials and management procedures for the improvement of English teaching in 6 branches of Cleverlearn HCM including its headquarters located in District 3, Cleverlearn Phan Dang Luu (Phu Nhuan District, HCMC), Cleverlearn Nguyen Van Cu (District 5, HCMC), Cleverlearn Phu Lam (Binh Tan District, HCMC), Cleverlearn Vung Tau and Cleverlearn Can Tho.

Making use of its academic strengths, AMA is pushing the network-wide application of Smart Methodology and continues delivering the two key academic courses: IETLS and TOEFL iBT.

Universal English Center (UEC)

UEC employs the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) approach to teaching English. This method involves learning subjects such as math, history, geography, music, art and science through the medium of a foreign language. This method focuses heavily on functional language and favors fluency over accuracy.

An effective CLIL lesson combines elements of:

Progression in knowledge, skills and understanding related to specific elements of a defined curriculum.
Using language to learn whilst learning to use language.
Developing thinking skills which link concept formation (abstract and concrete), understanding and language.
Exposure to alternative perspectives and shared understandings, which deepen awareness of otherness and self.
UEC uses this innovative approach because it; provides language for real purposes, develops learners in a wider cultural context and prepares students for international schools and exams.
Essentially, UEC creates well-rounded, dual-educated pupils, who thrive in an open, multi-subject environment.
