The do-it-yourself repair scene for cars is not as large nor as common as with motorbikes in Saigon because most people including expats just buy or rent motorbikes in the city. Nevertheless, there are a few places in town where you can pick up car parts to repair or pimp your own ride.
You can either head to the official dealer or you can always take a trip to Tân Thành or Dân Sinh markets where there are local shops that sell parts for brands sold in Vietnam. There won’t be any prices so you will need to have an idea of the cost for each part. Expect to bargain hard either way. Tanthanhonline.com also offers parts and has a delivery service. The only catch is that the website is only available in Vietnamese.
