It is no secret that motorcycles are the primary mode of transportation in Saigon. While some dealers will be happy with a copy of the passport and a signed contract when renting or buying a motorcycle, most require full qualifications, such as a driver's license –especially if you’re an expat or foreigner. Vietnam is becoming more serious about this and it can be more challenging to rent or buy without a license. If you’re renting or buying one, be sure that the owner has included the blue registration card. If you are renting, be sure you have a number to call in case of emergency.
