There are several mistakes first time visitors make when visiting Saigon and you can avoid these things altogether.

Don’t touch or sit near Buddha statues or any raised platform. Taking photographs is generally allowed, but it is best to ask for permission first. It is considered polite and respectful to be covered so wear modest clothing. Wear long trousers rather than shorts or miniskirts and avoid sleeveless shirts. Turn off mobile phones and lower your voice during religious services.
