Working in Saigon means a busy work life. But that doesn’t mean life is too busy to take care of ourselves especially for new mothers who just finished giving birth. According to Vietnamese law, female employees, both local and expats in Saigon can enjoy maternity leave for six months. If a woman has more than one child, she is entitled to a further 30 days off for each additional child. After four months of maternity leave, a woman can return to work if she has a written permission issued by a competent medical centre stating that she is able to work. If having a child who is less than 12 old, a working woman is entitled to 60 minutes per working day to take care of her baby.

Female employees receive 100% of their average salary during their six months’ maternity leave.
