HCMC’s expat population is culturally diverse and deep-rooted, with established networks for face-to-face and online interaction. Trends point toward growing immigration for the rise in the number of foreigners currently living in Saigon.

According to the latest statistics, the expat community in HCMC numbers are growing each year, especially since Vietnam has been ranked the top 10th destination for Expats in July 2019 due to the positive working environment and exciting opportunities for expats working in Vietnam. The vast majority are Korean, Japanese, Australian, American and European descent. District 1 is heavily concentrated with expats and tourists alike, but District 2 and District 7 along with District 3 also have a strong representation.

The easiest way to find them is through online forums and various groups such as the #iAMHCMC Community. There are also designated communities for various nationalities if you do a quick search on Facebook.
