WHAT TO DO IN Phan Thiet Mui Ne

It’s easy to arrive and simply sink into the sand, content to do nothing more than soak in the sun. You can, and maybe you should, but if you’re feeling up to a little motion, there are options aplenty to get your heart racing.

Even though golf is relatively new to Vietnam, it is alive and thriving in Phan Thiet. The best action is at Sea Links, an 18-hole links style course with enough challenge to keep your competitive engine firing at full speed - a fair warning, this course is not for the faint of heart and is billed as one of the most challenging links courses in Asia.

If you prefer your sports to be water-based, you’re in the right place. The kite surfing capital of Vietnam, the favorable winds and warm waters make Phan Thiet ideal for sailing, kitesurfing and windsurfing. A number of venues along the coast, including Jibe’s and Manta Sail Training Center, can outfit you accordingly.

Travellers can visit the white and red sand dunes, which are ever-popular activities. The white dunes tend to be less crowded and more visually appealing (presenting great photo ops and chances to roll down huge dunes), but you can always catch a quadbike on the red dunes for an adrenaline rush. For a calmer time, head to a boat operator for a leisurely tour through Phan Thiet’s coastal waters.

After a hard day in the sun, relax in one of the beautifully presented spas along Nguyen Dinh Chieu. Pampering and primping may not be as thrilling as windsurfing, but just as effective at melting your worries away.
