chinese RESTAURANTS IN SAIGON

Ho Chi Minh City offers diners a wealth of choice in cuisines. In addition to the obvious plethora of Vietnamese restaurants, cuisines from many other countries are readily available throughout the city. There has been a long history of Chinese people living here and of course Cholon, Saigon’s Chinatown, is testament to that. In fact the city used to be called Saigon-Cholon. It is therefore not surprising that Chinese restaurants enjoy a full and varied representation within city boundaries.

Chinatown itself consists of the western half of District 5 and several joining wards from District 6. It is here that you will find many Chinese restaurants in the city. In fact, it is here that many buyers for the city’s Chinese restaurants will be found in early morning hours, purchasing fresh ingredients to supply their kitchens. The restaurants in Cholon are mainly small businesses catering for the expat Chinese community.

In District 1 however, there are high-end Chinese restaurants that cater for the entirety of the expat communities and also Ho Chi Minh City’s middle class and tourists. Dynasty at the New World Hotel serves discerning guests with high-class, authentic Chinese dishes. All aspects of Chinese cuisine are well covered in the city, from noodle shops to Dim Sum and fine dining exquisitely presented dishes.

Li Bai Restaurant at the Sheraton Saigon Hotel is the epitome of elegant design and genteel ambiance. Serving authentic dim sum buffets and a superb a la carte menu, the restaurant fulfils the needs of diners, looking for something special.

Another well loved high-end dining experience in the city is that provided by YuChu, at the InterContinental Asiana Saigon in the heart of the city. This creates anything but the usual ambience of a Chinese restaurant and is more in keeping with French Fine Dining. However at the heart, this is classic Chinese cuisine.

Night owls will find San Fu Lou a welcome post-midnight Cantonese spot, with tasty dishes served from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. The restaurant is located in the AB Tower, so you’ll also have quick access to the iconic Chill Skybar on the rooftop.

Whatever you are looking for in your search for excellent Chinese food, you will find it in Ho Chi Minh City.
