Trời ơi, International Women’s Day is Thursday. How are you celebrating?
Let's dispense with the tried and trues, shall we? It's 2018, and chocolates and flowers are getting a little tired. How about inspiring the women in your life with a meal that is far from ordinary?
Don’t worry, international buffet restaurant Saigon Café has you covered.
Located at the first floor of the Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers, the District 1 restaurant is serving a special International Women’s Day menu filled with luxurious, high-end ingredients.
Saigon Café’s International Women’s Day menu is swimming in seafood with an extensive selection complete with freshly shucked oysters as well as salmon caviar and baby lobster.
The menu also includes Baked Oysters Florentine. Depending on where you are in the world, you might know them as Oysters Rockefeller or hào nướng phô mai, but the basics never change: the roasted oyster is served in the shell tucked under a blanket of spinach, with parmesan cheese sprinkled over the top and baked to perfection. A splash of white wine and seasoning of salt and pepper are what make this a truly exceptional dish.
Complementing the oysters is the Baked Whole Sturgeon Fish. This delicious white-fleshed fish will be personally carved and served by one of Saigon Café’s chefs. The seafood menu is rounded out by a Smoked Salmon served with a chili-butter sauce and baby lobster.
The International Women’s Day menu also features a Beef Tenderloin Steak, served with a sweet shallot jam, grilled lamb chop with onion chutney salsa, or a whole roasted leg of lamb with thyme stuffing.
If you’re having trouble deciding between the steak or the seafood, why not have both? Saigon Café’s International Women’s Day menu includes a salmon steak.
The International Women’s Day menu will also feature foie gras cooked to order. The rich, buttery dish will be served to the guests’ cooking specifications, and with their choice of a pepper or mushroom sauce.
Drink to your heart’s content. The International Women’s Day meal will be served with a bottomless glass of wine for all guests.
Finish up your meal with a dessert fit for a queen. A Teppanyaki ice cream station will also be available at Saigon Café’s International Women’s Day celebration. ‘Teppan-what?’ you may be asking. It's Japanese ice cream that is first flattened into sheets and then swirled into paper-thin scrolls, making for an satisfyingly sweet end to a memorable meal.
And of course, each guest will receive a rose because getting flowers on International Women’s Day isn’t actually a bad idea.
The Saigon Café is located at the first floor of 80 Dong Du, D1.
