The White House is one of the newer bars in fashionable Thao Dien area of Saigon’s District 2. American owned, the bar and restaurant is based on a lighthearted look at the “real” White House, rather than taking itself too seriously. It works really well. Housed in a truly beautiful large villa, the three floors take on three different feels. The ground floor is a nice bar, with various types of seating and a pool table. One floor up is all soft seating and a cosy ambience, perfect for meetings and the top floor is home to probably the best pool and darts space in the city.
This place has already become a firm favourite with many of the local expat community in the area and word is spreading quickly. No less than three pool teams will operating out of here next season. The bar has a good kitchen supplying hungry regulars with meals and bar snacks.
The garden area is well used and the recent addition of a large canopy has proved a hit, whether people wish to shelter from the rain or the sunshine. There is a small gazebo overlooking the swimming pool and this area has proved a winner for pool parties and special occasions. It really is a great space in which to hold parties. The owners are experienced at putting everything in place to enable people to relax and have fun.
For the drinks, the White House has recently installed a cold room and is serving no less than eight craft beers, from some of the city’s new craft breweries. Other bottled beers, a good wine selection and a fully stocked top shelf provide just about all you need to get an evening off to a good start. This is a great addition to the rapidly developing District 2 area.
