Can Gio National Park

A nature reserve full of restored mangrove forests and eco tourists, Can Gio National Park is a great place to see the wild outdoors and its inhabitants. Check out a pack of monkeys hollering from their wooden perch, slink by a swamp full of crocodiles or just post up in a hammock and take it all in. An ideal place to escape the urban rush of HCMC, Can Gio is worth a visit for anyone craving nature.

Can Gio is recognized as a biosphere reserve by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Over half the area of Can Gio National Park is comprised of saltwater forest. Once, the area was a remote fishermen's hangout. Today it is a UNESCO site that attracts many people from Ho Chi Minh City and across the world. There are a number of Saigon tour companies offering excursions to the area. At peak times, the park welcomes between 2,000 and 6,000 visitors a day.
