ART EVENTS FOR ALL IN SAIGON
White Mosaic by LAITA
Who says visual art is just about paintings and sculpture? The organizers at Laita Design Studio and Inax challenge patrons to think about art in a different way. They present White Mosaic, an art exhibition in Saigon with mosaic-inspired furniture focusing on minimalism, using only white, square mosaic tiles. By incorporating the elegant beauty of the white tiles, they want people to experience the geometric shapes and examine the lines between. To check out this take on art and meet other out-of-box thinkers, head to the Lixil Building in District 3 and join the discussion about the intersection of creative and trendy design in art.

Dew Drips, Smog Seeps - Sculptural Lament Collection
Nguyễn Thúy Hằng is a Vietnamese literary and visual arts artist who is making waves in both arenas. After a hiatus of two years, she returns in the series “Dew Drips, Smog Seeps: Sculptural Lament Collection”. In this exhibition, Hang uses natural materials and a keen attention to fine details to present a work that some speculate may be her final installation. She seeks to focus on the fleeting moments of life as well as the stillness of contemplation in thought. Enter her world at Vin Gallery in District 2 and try to examine your own cross section of thoughts and artistic point of view.

Propaganda As Arts and Communication: Vietnam 1954-1975
Propaganda posters and similar aesthetics still pepper the streets of Vietnam, however they were at their height before and during the war as an essential part of communication. Whether a war buff, vintage art aficionado, or just someone interested in learning about this intriguing period in Vietnam’s past, you will enjoy this event. Posters from Dogma Collection will be the focus of discussion, as well as how this propaganda interplays into the complex political, social, and psychological environment. Curator for Chaosdowntown Chao, Vicky Do, will also be present to lead the discussion. Please visit or message The Old Compass Cafe for tickets, as this event will likely sell out.
