As promised, I’m hitting you with the hottest events every week! Where should you eat, play, and party? The holiday season is still in full swing, but I’ve got a few picks for the Grinchiest of us all too! Check out these events around Saigon for the week of 22 December to 29 December.

One-Star Michelin Dinner
Saigon is a rising foodie city with an array of international cuisine on offer every day. Now, Crystal Jade Palace in Lotte Legend Hotel welcomes you to experience their Michelin One-Star 6-course set menu. Chef Simon Cheung Wing Keung will take you on a culinary journey with his menu of traditional Cantonese cuisine elevated with modern touches. Free Food Tuesday at Rogue
After shelling out big bucks all month, your wallet may be in need of a little break. Enjoy this weekly free food pop-up at Rogue Saigon. Every week, Rogue Saigon opens their doors to the public to enjoy a free meal, either from their kitchen or select restaurants around the city. This Tuesday, they are offering a tasty puff pastry sausage roll. Just come in and order a beer of any size to receive a free snack!

Back to the 90s!
After extensive renovations, Piu Piu back with the Back to the 90s! Party. Chilling in the bright blue rooftop space is a no-brainer with free entry all night. Try some of their signature cocktails or grab a cold beer and dance the night away to all the old-school hits by Saigon’s hottest hip-hop DJs. Special for this party, Antoine Assayas / Robinson will be showcasing his new album inspired by the sounds of Asia in a live set together with a dapper trumpetist!!

Banana X-mas Eve
If you haven’t been to a Banana Hustle party yet, you are truly missing out! This collective of DJs get the party rocking with tropical, international and afrobeats. It’s definitely an experience that you’ll be hard pressed to find elsewhere in Saigon. And, there’s no better time to check them out than the Banana Hustle X-Mas Eve Party at Lighthouse. Meet the guys on Christmas Eve from 9pm to 3am. With free entry all night long, you’ve got nothing to lose but sweat!

Unfortunately, there isn’t much of an LGBTQ scene in Saigon. There especially are not a lot of safe and inclusive space where lesbians and queer women can mingle. But, the time has finally come! This party is just for the women: queer, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender.Indika Saigon and SaigonFunnyPeople are teaming up to bring an all-female line up of DJs and drink specials for this first edition of the monthly Womyn MXR. In the chill garden and cafe, they welcome women of all persuasions to meet, laugh, and connect.

Looking for something a little different? Saigon always has something new to offer.
“Nhìn Lại/Looking Back” by Ngô Hồng Quang Launch Party
Vietnamese folk artist, Ngô Hồng Quang, in collaboration with contemporary Vietnamese poet Phan Lê Hà, brings the new album “Nhìn Lại/Looking Back” to The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre. The album is described as a “collection of multi-directional, multi-coloured, and multidimensional contemplations about time, place and space.” Whether new to this kind of music or a seasoned fan, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience modern Vietnamese poetry and music in a creative space. Saigon Swing Cats Wednesday Social
Saigon Swing Cats is a community of swing dancers with a passion for music, dance, and fashion from the 20s-40s swing culture. They invite you to join them at their Wednesday Social at Tavola in D1. Starting from 8:30pm, enjoy a complimentary Taster Class followed by swing jazz DJ music until 23.00! They encourage patrons to embrace the swing feeling by dressing the part from head to toe. No flip flops or stilettos, please. If you’re prone to sweat, you might want to bring a towel or extra shirt as well. Come out to learn something new, try a unique activity, or mingle with some cool daddy-os!
