Public transport in HCMC comes in a form of Buses, Taxis, Xe Om (motorbike taxis) and Cyclos. There are a few dos and don’ts that are worth remembering. At first glance it all seems rather confusing, but with a little help it is quite easy to navigate your way around the city. The HCMC government is currently undertaking a huge light rapid transport system that will see trains running underground, at street level and up to 15 metres above ground. This will not be in service though until 2018 or later, until then you can always use the options that are already available. Regular taxis and motorbike taxis can be easily found at almost every foot step around Ho Chi Minh City, they are always cruising around, offering their service, which can be quite annoying, but also helpful, because you woudn't need to pre-order a taxi and wait for it as it usually happens in the other countries.
