Zika on the rise in HCM City
Another 11 Zika cases have been detected in Ho Chi Minh City, increasing the total number of cases in the city to 57, the southern city’s preventive medicine centre said on November 20.
Two of the new cases are in Go Vap and Phu Nhuan districts, which hadn’t recorded any previous cases. Fifteen of the 24 districts of HCM City have reported Zika infections. Binh Thanh district continues to be a hotbed with 11 cases. It is followed by District 2 with 10 cases, and District 9, 12 and Tan Phu with six cases a piece.
Nguyen Tri Dung, Director of the preventive medicine centre, said his centre hasn’t issued a travel warning to Zika-infected areas. However, people, especially pregnant women, should avoid mosquito bites and kill mosquitoes and larvae to prevent dengue fever and Zika. Central city voted in Asia’s Top 10 Holiday Destinations
Đà Nẵng has been named among the Top 10 Holiday Destinations in Asia by Smart Travel Asia - an online tourism magazine for Asia.
Deputy Director of the city's tourism department Nguyễn Xuân Bình told Việt Nam News a certificate recognising the honour was handed over by a representative of the magazine in Da Nang last week. Bình said Đà Nẵng has been listed in the annual magazine's Top 10 Holiday Destinations since 2013.

PM urges Hòa Bình to improve investment environment
Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has urged the northern province of Hòa Bình to improve its investment environment so it can attract investors.
Addressing a local investment promotion conference on Saturday, the Prime Minister said Hòa Bình enjoys many advantages, such as its location as a gateway to the capital Hà Nội, beautiful landscape, rich culture and potential in construction materials, mining, hi-quality agro-fishery processing, resorts and eco-tourism. However, most investment projects in the locality are small scale, he said, calling on investors to explore opportunities in the province, particularly in tourism.
