1) Cow racing festival in An Giang
Cow Racing Festival has existed for a long time in the Seven Mountains Region of An Giang Province. The Festival is held on SeneDolta day of the Khmer ethnic minority people in the Mekong Delta (on the 9th and 10th of the 10th lunar month) to express gratitude toward ancestors.
Besides floating paper-boats on the water, the Khmer people held traditional sports games like cow racing in the SeneDolta Day.
They choose a flat and wet rice-field about 200 meters long and 100 meters wide for the race.

2) Students awarded for fine art works
As many as seven first, 17 second and 25 third prizes were awarded on September 15 to fine art works by students from 22 art and culture institutions throughout the country.
The works have been selected from 230 entries sent to the first contest of its kind hosted by the Hà Nội University of Fine Arts.
Organised under the theme “Việt Nam – Country and People”, the works were divided into the three categories of painting, sculpture and graphics.
“Through the contest, we can judge the real capabilities of students at art institutions during the past few years,” said Lê Đình Tân, head of the Culture Ministry’s Training Department.
“Some of the works are quite good in quality and ideas.”
3) The 31st Mekong Delta Region Art Photo Festival Exhibition to open
From 25 to 30 September 2016, the 31st Mekong Delta Region Art Photo Festival Exhibition will open at Nguyen Trung Truc Park, Rach Gia City, Kien Giang Province.
The 31st Mekong Delta Region Art Photo Festival was launched from May 2016 focusing on two main topics of Mekong Delta and Kien Giang.
The festival is a responsive activity of National Tourism Year 2016 – Phu Quoc – Me Kong Delta for promoting the beauty of the region’s landscapes and local people, introducing the achievements in socio-economic development and the beauty in spiritual culture of the ethnic minorities.

4) For the first time, Uber pays tax in Vietnam
The popular service promises to adhere to regulations after the finance ministry announced tax rates in an unmistakably tough move to tackle evasion.
Uber, the popular ride-sharing service, has paid VND241 million ($10,667) in taxes to Vietnam for the first time, after being accused of tax evasion over the past two years and forcing local authorities to take tough actions recently.
The company is working on procedures to pay more taxes, the Vietnam Television news site reported Thursday, quoting a tax official from the Ministry of Finance.
Following a prolonged legal back-and-forth, the fnance ministry in a recent regulation ordered Uber International Services Holding B.V. to pay a value added tax rate of 3 percent on its revenue and a 2-percent corporate income tax.
The unit, based in the Netherlands, is responsible for operating Uber services in Vietnam.
